Key Responsibilities of the Child Safety Champions

Promote a Child Safety Culture
  • Raise awareness about child safety and wellbeing
  • Ensure policies and procedures are current and accessible
  • Foster a culture of listening and responding to concerns

Provide Support and Guidance

  • Be a point of contact for child safety concerns
  • Offer guidance on policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with school leadership to respond to incidents

Train and Educate

  • Deliver child safety induction programs
  • Provide training for staff, volunteers, and school council members
  • Ensure mandatory reporters complete annual training

Monitor, Review, and Report

  • Record and analyse child safety complaints and concerns
  • Coordinate reviews and recommend improvements
  • Maintain the school's child safety risk register and records
